Use .016x.022 for .018 slots and .017x.025 for .022 slots. The bowed arch itself has the capacity to induce a retractive force to the anterior components of any arch. The upward pressure of the bowed arch in the buccal tubes induces a force vector distally along the bowed arch, causing the arch to creep backwards out of the buccal tube, and inducing a light retractive force upon the anteriors. This light force is very capable, as shown in the photos on the enclosed flyer, of creating substantial retraction and bite opening by arch action alone. This action may be augmented and accelerated by the addition of very light elastics placed on the arch posts and fashioned into Class I and in alteration with Class II hook-ups.

If needed, additional retraction and case completion may be accomplished with a Tri-SectionalArch of appropriate design.
